With the aim of expanding and promoting access to and the use of quality, integrated and sustainable Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) information and services in Ethiopia, CORHA has been engaged in five key result areas (strategic objectives) namely: Coordination /Representation/ /Networking, Capacity Building, Health Education, Knowledge Management, and  Resource Mobilization.

Through its coordination/representation/ networking result area, CORHA has been promoting networking and partnership enabling CORHA member and partner organizations to share experiences, knowledge and best practices.  It has established and hosts in-house discussion and learning platform for members/partners like the  Adolescent and Youth Sexual Reproductive Health (AYSRH) Learning Forum, SRH discussion forums established in different regions.  Besides, as a representative of the RH NGO community, CORHA is a member of Joint Consultative Forum (JCF) chaired by the Minister of MoH, member of the national steering committee of the Work Bank’s Protection of Basic Services (PBS) social accountability project chaired by the Minister of MoFED and sits in Health Population and Nutrition (HPN) donors group representing its member organizations.

The Capacity Building key result area focuses on building organizational and institutional capacities as well as individual competencies, so that improved RH programming can be achieved.  This is materialized through providing skills trainings, experience sharing events and the development of print materials. CORHA develops training curricula, service delivery protocols, supervision manuals, monitoring and evaluation instruments and IEC/BCC materials. It also conducts a variety of capacity building trainings to service providers, program managers, and board of directors and administrative and financial personnel of member and partner organizations including the public sector.

Under Health Education, CORHA strives to create enabling working environment for RH actors in collaboration and partnership with government, donors and members through policy dialogue, evidence based advocacy and institutional collaboration and production of IEC/BCC materials. So far, CORHA has been participating in development and review of RH related national policies and strategies and programs such as HSDPs, National RH Strategy, national AYRH strategy, different guidelines, protocols and manuals pertaining to the implementation of population and RH.

 

CORHA, under its Knowledge Management key result area, strives to facilitate the learning of its members and continuously transforms themselves through learning and innovation so that fit to the pressures facing modern organizations and enables them to remain competitive in the sector. Accordingly, CORHA identify, document and share best practices and innovative approaches for its members and partners. In addition, it carries out different operational researches, develops technical and program briefs, generate evidences for effective SRH programing.

In its Resource Mobilization efforts, CORHA works towards diversification of its resource base with the aim to strengthen its institutional capacity and that of its members as well as for the expansion of RH programs. In light of this, CORHA mobilize human, financial, technical and material resources to ensure sustainable RH programing of members and partners.  Currently, CORHA is granting 17 member organizations for AYRH program implementation.
